Paid Bangkok a visit once again! Dropped by a very hipster looking eatery that was situated in a legit warehouse and served up some really good Thai dishes.
As you can see, the restaurant is very spacious and is filled with natural light- which immediately put me in a good mood. We arrived at 11am on a Sunday and were the first ones there.
What you can expect to eat: elevated Bangkok home-cooked food. Dishes aren’t exactly cheap at 250-350THB each but I think the ambience is really worth it.
What we had: (I don’t quite remember the names of the dishes, sorry!)
Pork with basil
This site gave TNES quite a bland review but I thought our pork dishes were spectacular. The basil pork dish was super tender and flavourful, while the grilled pork dish (though it was a fatty cut) was marinated perfectly; the sweetness really complimented the taste of the meat.
After lunch, we popped by a cafe just next door called Candide Books & Cafe, which seems like a great place to grab a cuppa, a waffle and chill.
Flat white for me! Pretty decent. Coffee costs about 60-100THB
Must try if you’re a fan of pandan waffles! This strange looking dish is crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. 80THB
The book store stocked some interesting looking books! A pity they’re all in Thai, but I had fun browsing nonetheless.
Would recommend these two places if you’re looking to chill in the comfort of AC. Remember to order the pork dishes!
